Can I get from London Stansted Airport to Brighton by train?

There's no direct train. The train from Stansted to London ends at Liverpool Street. You'd need to take a tube from there to St Pancras, and get the First Capital Connect from there. Both services run very frequently, but the whole thing would probably take upwards of two hours.
