Sure, give a few bucks to a local foodbank or mission that feeds the homeless. That way, you know the money WILL go for food and fill someones belly for the night. If you gave her money, in a lot of cases, it just makes you an enabler because she was probably trying to get dough for some crack or meth. I am NOT saying all homeless people are crackheads but some are and you can remove all the doubt and ensure you are being helpful to them by donating to a mission that serves up a hot meal.
